The Story
Hand-Sculpted Ceramic Lotus · Incense & Fragrance Object · Jingdezhen
For incense, fragrance, meditation, or a quiet corner of your home
The Lotus Stillness Diffuser transforms one of the most enduring symbols in Chinese visual culture into a sculptural object for contemporary moments of calm.
At its centre, a lotus rises from a dark, textured ceramic base. Each petal is individually shaped into an open bloom, its ivory surface contrasting with the earth-toned seedpod and the almost stone-like ground beneath. Rather than appearing polished or perfectly symmetrical, the flower retains the subtle irregularities of its making — giving the piece a presence that feels organic and alive.
The lotus carries particular meaning in Eastern philosophy. Growing from mud yet emerging clean above the water, it has long been associated with clarity, resilience and inner growth. Its beauty does not come from avoiding difficult surroundings, but from rising through them.
That contrast is reflected throughout the piece: dark earth and pale petals, rough texture and delicate form, stillness and growth.
Designed as a diffuser for incense and fragrance, the lotus gives an invisible ritual a physical centre. Place an incense stick within the seedpod and allow the scent to move slowly through the space — beside a bed, on a desk, during meditation, or simply in the few quiet minutes between one part of the day and the next.
Even when not in use, the piece remains a sculptural ceramic object: a lotus held permanently at the moment of bloom.
For JingTale, its meaning is not about escaping the noise of everyday life. It is about creating one small place of stillness within it.
The surroundings may change.
The lotus still rises.
Rooted in earth. Rising into stillness.
Find your quiet, wherever you are.

We create pieces meant to be used, cherished, and passed down—bringing beauty to the ordinary, every day.
We honor tradition by placing each piece in dialogue with its origins, culture, and the hands that shape it.
We believe in intention over impulse—creating in small numbers, with care, and with lasting meaning.
Our mission
We do not want these objects to remain beautiful things from another culture, admired only from a distance. We want them to live with you.
We felt that sense of calm and strength ourselves. Our mission is to pass a little of it on.
Through thoughtful curation, cultural storytelling and new ways of using traditional forms, we hope to build a bridge between Jingdezhen and contemporary life around the world — allowing every piece to carry its history forward while finding a new purpose, a new ritual and, eventually, a new story with you.
