The Story
Underglaze Peony Porcelain · 280ml · Jingdezhen
For coffee, tea, or the quieter hours of the day
The Midnight Peony Cup gives one of China’s most celebrated floral motifs a darker, more contemplative expression.
Across a deep ink-toned ground, pale peonies emerge through curling leaves and vines, their petals illuminated almost as if seen beneath moonlight. Fine botanical borders frame the composition above and below, while subtle warm accents interrupt the monochrome surface with small traces of colour.
In Chinese decorative culture, the peony has long been associated with beauty, prosperity and flourishing. Yet here, it feels far removed from the usual bright and opulent interpretation. Against the dark ground, the flowers appear quieter and more restrained — flourishing without needing to demand attention.
The gently waisted silhouette brings another layer to the design. Narrowing slightly through the centre before widening again, the 280ml cup sits comfortably in the hand while giving the traditional floral composition a distinctly contemporary presence.
For JingTale, the Midnight Peony Cup speaks to a different kind of abundance: not excess, but the confidence of knowing that growth can happen quietly. A morning coffee, an afternoon tea, or a drink held during a moment alone becomes an everyday reminder that not everything beautiful needs to bloom loudly.
Traditional porcelain imagery moves beyond the display cabinet and into something intimate, useful and lived with — exactly where we believe it belongs.
Bloom quietly. Flourish deeply.
Not every flower needs the daylight to bloom.

We create pieces meant to be used, cherished, and passed down—bringing beauty to the ordinary, every day.
We honor tradition by placing each piece in dialogue with its origins, culture, and the hands that shape it.
We believe in intention over impulse—creating in small numbers, with care, and with lasting meaning.
Our mission
We do not want these objects to remain beautiful things from another culture, admired only from a distance. We want them to live with you.
We felt that sense of calm and strength ourselves. Our mission is to pass a little of it on.
Through thoughtful curation, cultural storytelling and new ways of using traditional forms, we hope to build a bridge between Jingdezhen and contemporary life around the world — allowing every piece to carry its history forward while finding a new purpose, a new ritual and, eventually, a new story with you.
