The Moon Rabbit Donut Keepsake Box takes an object once belonging to the Chinese tea table and gives it an entirely new purpose.

Originally designed to hold the lid of a gaiwan, its circular, almost doughnut-like form creates a natural space at its centre. JingTale reimagines this opening as a place for the small things we take off and return to every day — a bracelet after work, a watch before bed, rings, earrings, or another object worth keeping close.

Across the porcelain, a rabbit wanders beneath hanging clusters of grapes, surrounded by flowers, leaves and delicate botanical details. The imagery gives the piece the feeling of a miniature garden: playful rather than formal, intimate rather than ornamental.

Its form allows two different ways of living with it. Open, the centre becomes a small jewellery or accessories holder. Closed, the two halves return to a sculptural porcelain object — compact enough for a bedside table, dressing table or desk.

This transformation reflects one of JingTale's central ideas: traditional objects do not need to lose their history in order to find a new purpose.

Something once made to hold a tea lid can now hold a watch worn through years of everyday life, a bracelet received as a gift, or the jewellery you reach for every morning.
