The Story

The Albizia Butterfly Plate

Albizia & Butterfly Porcelain · 14cm · Jingdezhen
For pastries, jewellery, keepsakes, or as a companion to your favourite cup

The Albizia Butterfly Plate opens the collection into a wider garden.

Branches of pink albizia blossoms stretch across the porcelain while butterflies move through the open spaces between them. Unlike a rigid repeating pattern, the composition feels deliberately uncontained — flowers grow in different directions, leaves overlap, and each butterfly appears to have arrived in its own moment.

The softly scalloped edge follows the organic rhythm of the botanical scene, allowing the shape of the porcelain to become part of the garden itself.

Paired with either Albizia cup, the plate completes a contemporary coffee ritual — a place for a pastry, chocolate or something small beside your morning drink. Used on its own, it can take on another life as a jewellery dish, a place for keys and keepsakes, or simply an object left visible on a table.

In this way, the plate reflects one of JingTale's central ideas: a beautiful object does not need to have only one prescribed purpose.

Tradition gives it a beginning.
Everyday life gives it another story.

Let something beautiful land here.
One piece. Many rituals.

Jingdezhen — the porcelain capital and its kilns

Made in Jingdezhen

Born in the world's porcelain capital, where a thousand years of kiln culture still persists.

Our Philosophy

Art should be lived with.

We create pieces meant to be used, cherished, and passed down—bringing beauty to the ordinary, every day.

Craft deserves context.

We honor tradition by placing each piece in dialogue with its origins, culture, and the hands that shape it.

Fewer, better things.

We believe in intention over impulse—creating in small numbers, with care, and with lasting meaning.

Our mission

We do not want these objects to remain beautiful things from another culture, admired only from a distance. We want them to live with you.

We felt that sense of calm and strength ourselves. Our mission is to pass a little of it on.

Through thoughtful curation, cultural storytelling and new ways of using traditional forms, we hope to build a bridge between Jingdezhen and contemporary life around the world — allowing every piece to carry its history forward while finding a new purpose, a new ritual and, eventually, a new story with you.
