The Story
Hand-painted Blue & White Porcelain - Jingdezhen
For wine, spirits, tea, or whatever the moment calls for
The Star-Ridged Lotus Cup brings Ming-inspired blue-and-white porcelain into a contemporary drinking ritual. Its distinctive geometric ridge catches light and shadow with every turn, transforming a traditional vessel into a cup for sake, whisky, liqueur, tea — or whatever the moment calls for.
Its hand-painted lotus motif draws inspiration from Xuande-period porcelain. Sharper, more layered and less symmetrical than later interpretations, the petals rise almost like flames while freely turning vines create a subtle tension between wildness and order.
Breaking from the continuous curves of traditional round vessels, the star-like ridge gives the cup an architectural quality. As light moves across its angular surface, Qie Zhai's Sumali Blue–inspired cobalt shifts from deep, concentrated tones to softer, ink-like diffusion beneath a luminous glaze. Subtle variations created through pigment, glaze and fire give each piece its individual character.
Held in the hand, the angular exterior contrasts with the smooth inner curve — structure on the outside, softness within. Rooted in the visual language of Ming porcelain yet unconstrained by it, the Star-Ridged Lotus Cup brings confidence and individuality to a centuries-old tradition.
Old form. New ritual. Yours to define.
Tradition, with an Edge.

We create pieces meant to be used, cherished, and passed down—bringing beauty to the ordinary, every day.
We honor tradition by placing each piece in dialogue with its origins, culture, and the hands that shape it.
We believe in intention over impulse—creating in small numbers, with care, and with lasting meaning.
Our mission
We do not want these objects to remain beautiful things from another culture, admired only from a distance. We want them to live with you.
We felt that sense of calm and strength ourselves. Our mission is to pass a little of it on.
Through thoughtful curation, cultural storytelling and new ways of using traditional forms, we hope to build a bridge between Jingdezhen and contemporary life around the world — allowing every piece to carry its history forward while finding a new purpose, a new ritual and, eventually, a new story with you.
